backwards

What does it mean if you begin your day by putting your pants on backwards? I thought it was bad enough when I would accidentally put my socks labeled L and R on the wrong feet -- that makes me nervous so I quickly switch them. But backwards pants is a new one for me.

Once, at our cottage, I was hanging out with some friends and we may have had a cocktail or two. I ran to my room and changed into a pair of shorts. Maybe 40 minutes later, the awesome daughter of my friend looks at me quizzically and suggests that something might be askew with my outfit. I look down -- not only are my shorts inside out -- but they are the kind of shorts (running shorts) that have the inside underwear liner). Take a second to imagine that stylish take on a pair of Lululemon shorty shorts. Very hot.

I love the people that tell me when my shorts are inside out, I have a large piece of cilantro wedged between my teeth and hopefully -- if I ever get all the way out the door with my pants on backwards, they will let me know.
