Okay, I wish something crazy meaningful, magical or even mystical happened when I turned fifty.  It feels cool to have lived half of a century — although if I truly have fifty more years ahead I need to be in a better mindset about aches and pains.

The only true difference since my mid-January achievement of making it past another 1/16 is that now when I go to walk the dogs, my three teens daughters earn me that is is really slippery out.  So sweet — EXCEPT they do not follow that concern with anything like, we’ll walk the dogs for you.  Just the simple warning.  They never did that when I was 49.

Instead of texting, meet up with a friend.  If that's not possible, make a phone call.  Voices are amazingly comforting.
